This month marks a serious anniversary for Sticks and Steel… We are celebrating 15 years in business! Our doors opened days before 9/11. Despite the horrible tragedy and ensuing stagnant economy, my team and I put all of our grit and tenacity to work and somehow managed to grow year after year. Today, our cute little retail shop has become a go-to for artful, American made goods.
I’d like to tell you that I knew the “Buy Local Buy American” movement could have a tremendous effect on the economy, but I was not that foresightful. (That’s totally a word, right?) What I did know, is that there were American makers producing beautiful products and that our community would enjoy seeing their work. As it turns out, being a small business that supports other small family businesses is extremely fulfilling. Making a difference feels darn good!
I’m pretty sure our success and longevity is due to the rather fine balance of unique product offerings, a great mix of neighboring retailers and restaurants, and MOST OF ALL our loyal customer base.
Our community is more supportive than ever of small business, and we’ve been trying to find just the right way to say thank you… After months of discussion, our staff created a loyalty program that we all are very excited about and I think you all will really appreciate!
The new program offers reward perks like in-store credit, handcrafted birthday gifts, private trunk show events, and first pick at new product arrivals. As of now, the program is only offered inside of our brick-and-mortar location. If you’re in the area, stop in and we’ll hook you up. Online friends, we’re working on a way to include you too. Stay posted!
Thank you all for supporting our little shop, believing in American craft, and seeing Stick and Steel into year 15! We love what we do! We love that you love what we do, and we hope to keep this show going for another 15 years!
